For years you’ve been told that eating fat is harmful and unhealthy. That’s not all true. “Essential Fats” or “Good Fats” not only have a plethora of health benefits and help the body function more effectively, they can also help you lose weight. Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) are classified as unsaturated fatty acids and are divided into monounsaturated (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). These fats are considered “essential” because the human body needs them to function properly and survive.

NU-TEK’S NATURE’S EFA™ with Sesamin is the most complete, sophisticated blend of Omega 3, 6 and 9 Essential Fatty Acids available with the optimal ratios from the highest-grade sources available with an added high-grade extract of Sesamin designed to support vital bodily functions. Omega 3, 6 & 9 are referred to as “Essential” Fatty Acids because these are the “good fats” that your body needs to function properly.

Scientific research has shown how important it is for people to consume Omega 3, 6 and 9 Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) in their diet for overall health and well being. A lack of EFA’s (“good fats”) in your diet can cause everything from increased body fat, hardening of the arteries, abnormal blood clot formation, coronary heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, certain types of cancer, diabetes, and the list goes on. EFA’s should not be confused with “bad fats” such as the saturated fat found in red meat, butter, cream, milk, cheese, potato chips and many sauces just to name a few as well as trans fats (also known as hydrogenated oils) found in margarine. Since many EFA’s are not readily found in food and cannot be manufactured in the body, it is extremely important and vital to your health to supplement your EFA intake.

Benefits of NATURE’S EFA

Cardiovascular Health

  • Promotes a positive impact on cardiovascular disease via their effects on triglyceride levels, blood pressure, and maintenance of healthy heart rhythms.
  • May reduce the risk of heart disease, clotting and strokes by providing a slippery protective coat on the walls of the arteries thus inhibiting plaque from sticking to arterial walls.

Metabolic Function

  • Helps the body eliminate excess fat by optimizing insulin sensitivity, modulating the release and mobilization of lipids (fats) and keeps saturated fat mobile in the bloodstream. This increases the likelihood that fat will be burned rather than stored.
  • Provides significant amounts of energy to your heart and other organs and increases oxidation of stored body fat which in turn boosts metabolism and increases
    fat burning.

Cholesterol

  • Studies show that the EPA and DHA found in fish have been shown to lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase good cholesterol (HDL).

Brain Function and Mental Alertness

  • EFA’s are important components of the entire nervous system and work to keep us mentally and emotionally strong. They are necessary to make the neurotransmitter serotonin. Studies have shown decreased levels of Omega-3 fatty acids in patients with depression and other brain diseases.
  • Effective in helping decrease the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks as well as having positive long-term effects on brain chemistry.

Bones and Joints

  • Aids in the transport of minerals that keep bones strong, help prevent osteoporosis and improve joint mobility.

Skin, Hair and Nails

  • Improves skin inflammations and overall skin imperfections.
  • Strengthens, improves and maintains healthy skin, hair and nails.

Lean Muscle

  • Plays an instrumental role in muscle growth and protecting lean muscle during calorie shortages
    (like dieting).

Recovery

  • Improves muscle recovery time by fighting inflammation.

Immune System

  • Nourishes and strengthens the immune system. Omega-3 & 6 fatty acids play a crucial role in the body’s production of the hormone Interferon. Interferon plays an important role in regulating the immune system.

Why the addition of Sesamin?

Sesamin is an omega-6 fatty acid as well as a naturally occurring lignan found in sesame oil. Research has show Sesamin by itself can maximize fat loss, support liver and kidney health, maintain healthy lipid profiles and lower blood pressure. It is also a very powerful antioxidant. With these added benefits, it only made sense to compliment NATURE’S EFA with the addition of Sesamin.

It is amazing how EFA’s provide an array of significant and varied health benefits. Because EFA’s are essential for every cell in every tissue of every system in your body to function properly, it is not surprising that they have enormous recuperative and preventive effects on chronic disorders. The benefits of EFA’s continue to grow daily.

ATTENTION: Not all EFA supplements are of the same quality. When shopping for an EFA supplement, look for one that derives its Omega-3 sources from EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and Flax Seed. EPA and DHA are derived from fish and other marine sources. Inferior EFA supplements will derive their Omega-3 source from only flaxseed (ALA). Flaxseed must be converted to EPA and DHA in the body and is only done so to a limited extent. The human conversion of ALA to EPA and DHA is slow and only 15% of ALA (flaxseed oil) can convert to EPA and 5%, if any at all, may convert to DHA. Also, do not be fooled by inferior EFA supplements that utilize low quality oils that are high in mercury or contain lower grades of oil.
